Mobile app for young visitors and families for
Design museum Helsinki

About this project
In this project I created an app for museum visitors. This app is including educational and creative tasks that visitor can accomplish during they visit.

This was my personal project.
I chose this topic as me case study because for last 10 years I have being working in Museums as a guide as well as conducting and developing educational projects for different age groups.

Project goal
The goal of this project is to provide an existing learning experience for all family members:
· to discover different objects at the exhibition display
· to learn more about history, materials, forms and designers
· to design an object by yourself

Focus age group is children 8-12 years old.


My role in the project
This was my personal project, and I’ve done all phases of design and research to Identified user persona.
For this app I have used the tasks that I have created for design Museum in 2022 for “Family Design club”. The original tasks were designed to be used in a paper format.

Wireframes

WIth wireframe layout I finalise the functionality of elements and create a prototype to be tasted.

Prototyping

The  wireframes prototype was tasted with adult participant.

Based on comment several adjustments were added, such as score ratings to visualise the achievements in the tasks and more links to information about objects and designers.

Final design and follow-up

The  firs version of visual prototype were also tested with children participants. 

The final version included additional links to more detailed information about the objects,

mini logo that indicates the score, more unified navigation system  and additional like to museum webpage.
